Bogdan Georgescu, the winner of the 2011 Irish Embassy Award, has a track record as an artist, observer and social activist using drama, community theatre, video production as cultural tools. As a PhD student at the National University of Theatre and Film “I.L. Caragiale”, Bucharest, his research theme was Community Theatre for Active Art. Georgescu was a Soros Fellow (UEP) in 2004, a Cornerstone Theatre Company Institute Fellow in 2005 and an Arts Link Fellow 2011.
